The degree in Biotechnology aims to provide technical and scientific training, theoretical and applied, in the areas of biology and biotechnology studies offering a solid multidisciplinary training that will enable the future graduate in biotechnology to develop applied research and development activities, and enter the professional market intervening in the development of new products and services for the agri-food, forestry, environmental, pharmaceutical and other sectors. The degree is focused on learning about the analysis and development of biotechnological processes in plant improvement, with the capacity to better adapt to the new challenges of climate change as well as supplying the nutritional needs of current and future society. It also aims at the use and selection of microorganisms, with potential in industrial application, development of new products and application of emerging technologies to productive processes.
